DOCUMENTARY
FROM WEIMAR WITH LOVE
Here is a collection of pictures, that have a great value to me. I think that I will never experience such a place like this. These photos will remind me of all the small details in Weimar I will leave behind.
These nuts were literally everywhere during the late Summer and early Autumn . Later I heard that people in Weimar collected them for the purpose of bringing luck.
The luck-bringing Nepalese praying flags were found all over Weimar, as long as you remembered to look up.
The nature stunned me almost every day. The riverside was a beautiful part of Weimar. We crossed the Ilm river every single day on our way to home.
I was lucky enough to witness the beautiful Summer of Germany. The nature was at it's best when we arrived from Finland, where everything started to fade away due to the Autumn nights.
People seem to concentrate to admire the architecture of Weimar, but for me the details, such as huge wooden doors, are the things I would love to take back to Finland.
I have never seen a bunch of lavender before! I still do not know where you should put it. Is it for cooking or just for a lovely scent?
The front of an antique shop was creepy enough. Fortunately there were no baby in the trolley.
Ferris wheel took us up and finally showed the true size of Weimar - it is so small!
Glühwein - the saviour for the cooling nights. The equivalent drink in Finland is called Glögi, and I learned that instead of berries it is made of grapes.
Zwiebelmarkt, the Onion Market that shook Weimar up and got around 300 000 tourists to invade its small streets. An amazing weekend it was!
The building next to the Wunderbar. It seemed that the colouring of this building changed every other week.
This bike made me a bit jealous.
This child was something overly sweet.
The creepy sculpture next to the children playground.
This spot is in the Hederplatz. There are some different sizes of bricks around the well hole, and if you stepped (or jumped) on top of one the small amount of water popped out. It seemed to entertain a lot of people!
At least I was entertained, since this spot was situated next to my favourite cafeteria. No matter how young or old, people loved to jump on top of this water installation.
The reality of approaching Autumn.
Didn't see too much wild life in Germany. This one especially wasn't too wild.
Lonely benches everywhere.
This picture is a apart of an experiment of a night photo shooting. It means a lot to me, since in Germany I was finally able to take part of a photography class.
Weimar was my home for almost four months, and during those months I felt perfectly safe and tranquil. I never thought that adaptation to a foreign country would be so effortless. A lot of good things crossed my paths, and I shall be grateful for this experience forever.
